SLG Brands Sells COLAB Dry Shampoo and Johnny's Chop Shop to Thriving Brands
UK beauty incubator exits two flagship haircare brands as US-based Thriving Brands acquires globally recognised challenger labels.
CHELTENHAM, UK — SLG Brands, the UK-based beauty incubator founded by Miles Dunkley, has completed the sale of COLAB Dry Shampoo and Johnny’s Chop Shop to Thriving Brands LLC, a Cincinnati-based acquisition platform focused on everyday use personal care brands. Financial terms were not disclosed.
COLAB is a science-led haircare brand built around the dry shampoo category and Johnny's Chop Shop is a men's grooming brand that gives consumers professional barbershop results at home. Both brands have gained significant distribution across key retail partners.
Led today by CEO Lucy Beresford and CFO, Richard Buckland, SLG Brands is the founder-creator of its own successful portfolio of brands, including COLAB, Johnny’s Chop Shop, and has also partnered with some of the world’s most exciting lifestyle and fashion brands, online creators, and influencers to facilitate their extension into the beauty market.

Thriving Brands, whose existing portfolio includes the Right Guard and Dry Idea Brands, operates a dedicated growth platform across multiple categories, brands, and geographies.
